RYM (Refuge Youth Ministries)

...is the youth group at First Baptist, Lowrys. It is involved in several ministries including Absorbed, annual mission trips to Mexico and West Virginia, and weekly youth meetings on Sunday and Wednesday nights. RYM's vision is to be a godly influence in the surrounding community as well as communities around the world by serving God.

Christopher Eifert

...has been volunteering as RYM leader since 2005. He also works full time in Charlotte and is a religious studies major at Gardner-Webb University.

Rodney Queen

...is the speaker scheduled for Absorbed '07. He recently earned a bachelor's degree in religious studies from Gardner-Webb. His energetic personality and his desire to reach young people for Christ allow him to have a powerful and relevant ministry.

One Step Closer

...is a praise band from the Rock Hill, S.C., area. Spencer Neal is the lead vocalist as well as lead guitarist. Drew McGuffin is the drummer, and Jennifer Welch plays the keys. The band has been involved in a prison ministry, played at Absorbed '06, and has performed at various other events as well.
